Personality database introducing you to psychology
Knowing your Color is a personality database webpage that presents the traits and statistics of each MBTI personality type. The webpage includes introductory information about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and its traits, to provide users with a better understanding of each personality type.
To enhance user engagement, I also developed a short test that categorizes users into each type based on the most significant traits of each function letter, facilitating their connection with the personality types while browsing the database. To improve user accessibility and engagement, I assigned each MBTI personality type with a unique color for visual representation, obtained from internet polls. Furthermore, I utilized visual effects to create a more immersive experience for users, promoting a deeper understanding and impression of each personality type.

MBTI, or Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, is a widely used personality assessment tool that categorizes individuals into 16 different personality types based on their preferences in four key areas: extraversion/introversion, sensing/intuition, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving.
To gather data for my project, I primarily used the 16personalities.com website and web scraping techniques. I obtained information on the percentage of each personality type in Canada, as well as their trait composition. Additionally, I included data on the roles theory in MBTI. Roles theory in MBTI identifies how individuals with different personality types may exhibit certain patterns of behaviour, communication, and decision-making in social and work settings, helping to understand their preferred roles in a group or team dynamic. This data was collected globally to provide a comprehensive view for my audience to better understand their personality types.

Through my research, I discovered that in Canada, individuals with feeling traits are significantly more prevalent than those with thinking traits, and there are more intuitive, introverted, and prospecting individuals than observant, extroverted, and judging ones. The most common personality types in Canada are the mediator (INFP, 15.74%) and the campaigner (ENFP, 13.44%), with diplomats (people who have intuitive and feeling traits in their personality type) accounting for up to 44.82% of the total population. However, worldwide, sentinels (people who have observant and judging traits in their personality type) have the highest population.
